“Designated Survivor” revealed the traitor in the White House in Season 1, episode 18. Jay Whitaker (Richard Waugh), the U.S Homeland Security Advisor, is a member of the True Believers, the organization that bombed the Capitol. He is also responsible for leaking the blueprints of the Capitol bombing to his organization, supplying journalist Abe Leonard (Rob Morrow) with information about the bombing and giving FBI Agent Hannah Wells (Maggie Q) surveillance footage of Nestor Lozano (George Tchortov) before he was allegedly captured and killed.

Of course, Lozano is alive and well. In fact, he kidnapped Hannah as per Whitaker’s orders.

Last week, President Tom Kirkman (Kiefer Sutherland) was also wrestling a scandal involving Madam Speaker Kimble Hookstraten (Virginia Madsen). She is not only the speaker of the house but also a potential candidate for vice presidency.

What will happen this week on ABC’s “Designated Survivor”?

According to the official synopsis on Season 1, episode 19, the White House will be busy preparing for Kirkman’s first international summit. But the summit isn’t his main problem. He will be worried about Kimble since she is about to face her toughest political battle yet when her speakership is challenged.

While Kirkman is busy fighting political battles, Hannah will be in serious trouble. The promo of the upcoming episode, titled “Misalliance,” shows Sutherland’s character being informed that the smart FBI Agent has been kidnapped by a much alive Lozano.

The FBI uses every resource to locate one of their own. Kirkman is extremely guilty of putting Hannah’s life in danger. She is holed up in some shipping container.

However, Kirkman is going to face his biggest threat to his political career in Wednesday’s episode of “Designated Survivor.” Browning Reed CEO Patrick Lloyd (Terry Serpico) is rallying support to take back America and take Tom Kirkman’s place. He calls him an illegitimate president of the country.

As revealed in last week’s episode, the smart-mouthed, brash CEO is actually a member of the True Believers – the group of conspirators who bombed the Captiol and intend on bombing several other key sites in the country including the Hoover Dam, the Golden Gate Bridge and the Statue of Liberty.

Season 1, episode 19 will also see former Assistant Director of the FBI, Jason Atwood (Malik Yoba), spying on Lloyd and taking his pictures. Maybe Atwood will get some information or evidence that ties him to the True Believers?

Meanwhile, Kirkman’s wife Alex (Natascha McElhone) will be busy deciding whether or not she should bring the kids back to Washington. With Lozano dead, Alex may believe that her children are safe enough to move back to the White House.

There are only three episodes left for “Designated Survivor” to wrap up its freshman season. The finale airs on Wednesday, May 17 at 10 p.m. EDT on ABC. Hopefully, it will reveal more information about the conspiracy and Hannah will take down the organization once and for all.
