Sarah Jessica Parker is back on TV in a brand-new dramedy named “Divorce.” The former “Sex And The City” actress stars in the 10-episode Season 1 as a wife named Frances, who realizes she wants a divorce from her husband Robert after reassessing her life and her strained relationship with him.

HBO released a new promo of the TV show in which Parker, Thomas Haden Church
(who plays Robert) and the series’ executive producers Sharon Hogan and Paul Simms talk about “Divorce.” Watch it below:

1. It’s Funny

Although divorce is a serious subject matter that often elicits tears, sadness, wine drinking and introspection, Parker’s new series ensures that the subject isn’t all fights and sorrow. The tone is light, fun and entertaining.

2. It Will Focus On The High And Lows Of Divorce

“Divorce is really about people trying to navigate a really unhappy and difficult experience,” the series’ lead star and executive producer, Parker, explains in the trailer.

3. “Divorce” Will Show Girlfriends Having Fun

The series might not be a “SATC,” but it still shows Frances enjoying spending time and bonding with her girlfriends.

4. There’s A Lot Of Sex Talk

Frances isn’t shy of discussing her love life with lawyers. She quickly dishes details on the lack of tongue kissing and orgasms in her marriage.

The TV show is set in Westchester County in New York City and explores the process of ending a marriage. It also stars Molly Shannon, Talia Balsam, Tracy Letts, Sterling Jerins and Charlie Kilgore.

Watch Sarah Jessica Parker return to the small screen in “Divorce” on Sunday, Oct. 9 at 10 p.m. EDT on HBO.
