  • Donald Trump spoke in front of thousands of Americans at a rally in Colorado
  • The POTUS threw shade at this year's Oscars
  • Donald Trump didn't like the idea of "Parasite" and Brad Pitt winning

Donald Trump recently headlined a rally in Colorado where he discussed a slew of different issues. But most surprising was his discussion of the recently-concluded Oscars.

The POTUS described this year’s Academy Awards as “bad,” and he also couldn’t accept the fact that a foreign film bagged the biggest award.

“How bad were the Academy Awards this year? And the winner is a movie from South Korea! What the hell was that all about? We’ve got enough problems with South Korea, with trade. On top of that, they give them the best movie of the year. Was it good? I don’t know,” he said.

Melania Trump’s husband suggested that movies such as “Gone With the Wind” and “Sunset Boulevard” are the ones that are worthy of winning an Oscar.

Shortly after, Neon, the US distributor for “Parasite” fired back at Trump for criticizing their film. In a cryptic tweet, the company suggested that the POTUS cannot read.

“Understandable, he can’t read,” they tweeted.

While speaking with The Hollywood Reporter, Neon founder Tom Quinn weighed in on the previous discussions suggesting that “Parasite” can’t bring home an award because it’s a foreign film.

“I don’t know. That sounds a lot like a Trump tweet. So, it doesn’t make any sense,” he said.

Meanwhile, Trump’s criticisms regarding the Oscars did not end with “Parasite.” The POTUS couldn’t also believe that Pitt brought home the best supporting actor recognition at the awards show. According to Trump, he is not a big fan of Pitt.

On Twitter, some of Trump’s critics lambasted him due to his shocking comments about Pitt and “Parasite.”

“Donald Trump and his family are much bigger parasites on the US taxpayer than anybody in the Oscar-winning movie. He just doesn’t like competition,” Twitter user @aeolmsted said.

“And what was the point of the whole spiel anyway? Why was he ranting and complaining about the Oscars? That’s how deranged the Trump cult is. The man spends a campaign speech whining that a Korean film won BP and this is sane?” Twitter user @ColinJ1992 said.
