Drake-Meek Mill Feud: Nicki Minaj Cuts Off Communication With Canadian Rapper For Boyfriend, Report Says

Nicki Minaj has decided to avoid getting in touch with her former boyfriend Drake for the sake of her current boyfriend Meek Mill, Hollywood Life reported Monday. The singer’s decision comes amid the ongoing feud between Drake and Mill, which started in July 2015.

A source told Hollywood Life that Minaj had to a “pick a side” and she chose Mill.

“[Minaj] is aware that [Drake] still has love for her but she had to cut all the communication off, largely to protect her relationship with Meek,” the source told the entertainment website. “She had to pick a side and she chose her man’s. Meek and Drake were going at it way too hard dissing one another and she was caught in the middle. She had no choice but to stop talking to Drake. They will always be cool but Nicki is committed to Meek. That’s her man and quite possibly the love of her life.”

The report comes after rumors that Minaj does not want Mill to know she loves Drake’s latest album, “Views From the 6.” Minaj reportedly knew that Mill would be bothered with the fact that she likes Drake’s album.

“She’d never admit this, but she thinks Drake is a far more superior rapper than her own man. But that’s on the super, super down low,” a source had told Hollywood Life.

Drake slammed Mill in one of his latest tracks “Hype” by indirectly referencing to the latter's allegations that the 29-year-old uses ghostwriters for his songs.

“I don’t run out of material/You shouldn’t speak on me period/You try to give your side of the story/They heard it/But they weren’t hearing it,” Drake says in the song.

Mill and Drake have been involved in a public spat after Mill asked people in July to stop comparing him to the “Hotline Bling” star. Drake responded with two diss songs, “Charged Up” and “Back to Back,” while Mill shot back with “Wanna Know.”
