Dutch Company Rolls Out E-Joints
A Dutch company is capitalizing on the prevalence of e-cigarettes with the introduction of the world's first electronic joint.
The E-Njoint is fully legal, comes in a variety of fruity flavors, and contains no THC, tobacco or nicotine, making it ideal for "trendy dance parties, music events, bars, clubs and so on," notes manufacturer E-Njoint BV.
However, users can refill the E-Njoint with cannabis liquid or dry "herbs."
E-Njoint BV claims it is producing up to 10,000 E-Njoints a day, which are being distributed across Europe.
The firm's chief executive, Menno Contant, said: "Holland is well known in the world for its tolerant and liberal attitude toward soft drugs, and the introduction of this new product clearly makes a statement: As long as you don't bother or disturb other people, and stay within the legal boundaries, all is well."
"Developed, manufactured and sold at lightning speed. Everyone should feel fine, because what we are doing is no crime," Contant continued.
E-Njoint BV is currently in negotiations with medical cannabis company Tikun Olam to see if the E-Njoint will work as a health product, which may be particularly appealing to U.S. states where marijuana has been decriminalized or made available medicinally.
But with certain countries like the U.K. considering regulation of e-cigarettes, the E-Njoint may soon face some legal battles.
