Providing a much needed dose of humor in the wake of Hurricane Sandy, Ellen DeGeneres got a lot of laughs with a curve-enhancing costume on Wednesday’s Halloween-themed episode “Ellen.”

The always comedic talk show host appeared on her day time talk show, in an extremely padded glittering emerald dress modeled after her pal, Sofia Vergara’s, sexy Emmy dress.

But never one to take herself too seriously, DeGeneres wore a full body suit padded with plenty of extra cushioning in her bosom and derriere, meant to simulate Vergara’s voluptuous curves.

"Muchas Gracias everybody, Muchas Gracias, Hola! My name is Sofia Vergara,” said the 54-year-old host as she stepped onstage to greet a live audience. “I am easy breezy beautiful CoverGirl from Colombia. Happy Halloween. As you can see, I put my pumpkins out."

But “pumpkins” were not all DeGeneres had put out, as she had left the backside of her dress unsewn to reveal a costume-enhanced behind as well. DeGeneres’s Halloween gag poked fun at Vergara’s recent wardrobe malfunction at the 2012 Emmy’s when her revealing gown, designed by Lebanese fashion designer Zuhair Murad, tore in the back just minutes before Vergara’s “Modern Family” cast was called onstage to accept an award.

But rather than hiding the embarrassing faux-pas, Vergara bravely shared the accident with fans, tweeting a photo of a wardrobe assistant performing some last minute surgery on the dress. "20 min Modern Family won!! Dress malfuncion !!! Thank you emergency team!!!” wrote Vergara.

Vergara even treated fans to photo of her exposed bottom before the rip was miraculously repaired, writing, "Yes!!!! This happend 20 min before we won!!!!" Demonstrating her extraordinary good sense of humor, she later added, "Jajajajja. I luv my life!!!!"

And for her part, DeGeneres seemed more than pleased to imitate Vergara for one day. "I like being Sofia Vergara, but it's hard being this beautiful," said DeGeneres, poking fun at her friend’s varied advertising contracts. "I'm so busy with CoverGirl and Diet Pepsi and Burger King and my clothing line [and] the award winning 'Modern Family.' I get so much work with this fake accent. People think it's real."

Vergara then appeared on stage, evidently stunned to find her doppelganger there. "Your ass looks huge, Ellen!" said Vergara. DeGeneres acted similarly thrilled and surprised, saying, "I have to say, it is like looking in a mirror. I feel sexy!"
