"Fifty Shades Darker," the second movie in E.L. James' erotic trilogy, will move production to Paris, France. The news comes months after the November 2015 terrorist attacks.

Stephane Martinet, deputy director of the Ile-de-France Film Commission, told the Hollywood Reporter that producers have not changed their film schedules because of the attacks and have "voiced their support to [Paris] after the attacks and their willingness to pursue their projects."

"They want to send a message," he added.

According to THR, "Fifty Shades Darker," which is a sequel to 2015's hit "Fifty Shades of Grey," will shoot in the city for several days "within the first six months of the year." It was previously reported that filming in Pairs would begin next week.

Currently, "Fifty Shades Darker" is filming in Vancouver, Canada. James shared a photo from the set Tuesday and announced her arrival in Vancouver over the weekend. Fans have also claimed to have spotted the film's main stars, Dakota Johnson and Jamie Dornan, in Vancouver. Johnson and Dornan will reprise their roles as Anastasia Steele and Christian Grey, respectively.

"Fifty Shades Darker" will continue to tell the story of the pair's complicated BDSM romance. The sequel will also introduce a new character, Elena Lincoln, or "Mrs. Robinson" as Ana calls her in the book. As previously reported, Kim Basinger has been cast to play Elena.

In James' first novel, "Fifty Shades of Grey," it's revealed that Christian had a relationship with Elena when he was a teenager. Fans later learn that Elena is also Christian's business partner.

"Fifty Shades Darker" is scheduled to be released Feb. 10, 2017, with a follow-up, "Fifty Shades Freed," hitting theaters in February 2018.
