KEY POINTS

  • The Keqing character banner is still live in "Genshin Impact"
  • The banner is the second one released in update 1.3
  • A new leak reveals the character banners miHoYo intends to launch in "Genshin Impact" update 1.4

It appears that the constant release of new characters every six weeks is now taking its toll on miHoYo. If the latest leak is to go by, it looks like "Genshin Impact" might roll out only one new character in the person of Rosaria in Update 1.4.

The latest information comes from a data mining activity shared by Hu Tao Main's Discord Server via Forbes. Based on the leak, miHoyo intends to release two character banners in "Genshin Impact" Update 1.4. The first five-star character featured in a banner would be Venti, making it the five-star anime character's first return since the game was released September 2020.

The other banner would feature a five-star character from the game's permanent banner, similar to what miHoYo did with Keqing. The banner could feature either Diluc, Jean, Qiqi, or Mona. However, the four-star character Rosaria, who was mentioned in the Albedo questline, would apparently debut in this banner.

The leak implies that Update 1.4 might be the first "Genshin Impact" update without any new five-star character at all. Fans are advised to temper their expectations about this leak since it is not official. Venti's return would be warmly received by fans considering that the five-star character is one of the best for crowd control.

Rosaria is an interesting character, and fans are intrigued to know what her kit would be. If the leaks are accurate, she is the first character in "Genshin Impact" to wield a cryo. However, four-star characters are less sought after and less powerful compared to five-star characters.

At this point, the general belief prevalent in the community is that Hu Tao will launch after the Keqing banner at the tail end of the current update, presumably March 2. The devs have not yet said anything related to Hu Tao or Rosaria or Venti. The Keqing banner is still live in the game, and today, miHoyo starts accepting participants for the Wish Upon a Lantern event to give them the chance to partake in the Grand Primogem Prize.

"Genshin Impact" is available on PC, PlayStation 4, iOS and Android devices.
