  • Fans are hoping a new gameplay trailer releases soon
  • Sony has not yet revealed the official release date of the game
  • "God of War: Ragnarok" is the next iteration of the "God of War" series

"God of War: Ragnarok," one of the highly anticipated titles announced to release this year, seems to be hyping fans with a series of tweets from its developers suggesting the game is already playable and another saying the team is working on "something super exciting," but despite the hype, Sony's Santa Monica Studio has not yet announced the game's release date.

"God of War" cinematics producer Estelle Tigani dropped another hint about the upcoming game when she tweeted that she has to go back to the Santa Monica office again after two years of working from home to "work on something super exciting for God of War: Ragnarok."

While the tweet does not reveal any details about what the producer is working on, given her role in the team it seems that it has something to do with a new gameplay trailer coming soon.

Sony's Santa Monica Studio, the team working on the next "God of War" title, released the game's trailer in September 2021; it has been after seven months since and the team has not made any announcements about the game. A new gameplay trailer is ripe for launch.

There are speculations online that "Ragnarok" might see another delay because of the absence of fanfare from Sony and Santa Monica. However, a tweet from lead destruction artist Ruben Morales may have changed the minds of the fans who are no longer expecting to see the game's release this year.

The tweet features a video of Morales' daughter playing the 2018 "God of War" with a pretty interesting caption. The artist said that his daughter "loves playing the new game" but noted that since he "can't show that footage," he will just "show her playing the last game."

If the game is already playable, it is just a matter of time before Sony announces its official release date.

Fans should temper their expectations since nothing is confirmed in these tweets. "God Of War: Ragnarok" is currently in development for PlayStation 4 and PS5.
