‘Gotham’ Season 4 Spoilers: Where Will Ed Nygma Find Lee Thompkins?
Dr. Leslie “Lee” Thompkins (Morena Baccarin) has sworn off Gotham City several times, but she always finds her way back. This Season 4 of “Gotham” is going to be the same.
But where is the doctor? After being infected with the Alice Tetch virus last season, Lee did some horrible things to the city, including her former fiance, Detective Jim Gordon (Ben McKenzie). Since she’s feeling guilty for her past misdeeds, Lee is trying to atone for her mistakes by offering her services in The Narrows - a seedy underground society that hosts fight clubs.
“There’s a lot of fighting, a lot of blood,” Baccarin told AM New York. “I’m the doctor there.”
It is there where she will be meeting Ed Nygma (Cory Michael Smith) and Solomon Grundy (Drew Powell), and together, the three of them will join forces. “It’s the dream team you didn’t know you needed,” Powell laughingly said.
But all jokes aside, the trio will actually be a formidable group - one that might even take down the empire of the Penguin (Oswald Cobblepot).
The three get together in The Narrows, a seedy, underground society in Gotham which hosts a brutal fight club. “It works out surprisingly well,” Smith added.
Meanwhile, “Gotham” co-executive producer Bryan Wynbrandt told Comic Book that Grundy will make his appearance next week in the episode entitled, “A Dark Knight: The Blade’s Path.”
“It’s got that Frankenstein-esk story to it. We are different from the comics in which Grundy's appearances came of Cyrus Gold character,” Wynbrandt revealed. “We have Butch Gilzean who at the end of last season, we teased that his first name was Cyrus Gold which was obviously a nod to Grundy. Cyrus Gold has a cannon of its own that’s different from Gilzean. We really were looking at this as Butch Gilzean becoming Grundy.”
His team-up with Nygma surprisingly works this season because co-executive producer John Stephens told Cinema Blend that Butch somehow forgot all the nasty things Nygma put him through last season. “[Butch] doesn’t remember that he wants to rip his head off,” he said.
“Gotham” Season 4 airs Thursdays at 8 p.m. EDT on Fox.
