Attention all parents. Just on the heels of a massive recall, Graco Children’s Products expanded it to include several of their car seat models Thursday.

Following last month’s announcement, in which 3.8 million Graco child safety seats were recalled for a harness/buckle defect, the Atlanta-based company has expanded the list of potential faulty children's products. According to a report from the Associated Press, a total of 403,222 seats have been included in Graco’s March 2014 recall expansion.

The new models being recalled are 2006 through 2014 Argos 70 Elite, Ready Ride, Step 2, My Ride 65 with Safety Surround, My Size 70, Head Wise 70 with Safety Surround, Nautilus 3-in-1, Nautilus Plus and Smart Seat with Safety Surround.

Despite the expanded list, the AP is reporting that the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration wants Grace to add 1.8 million infant car seats to the recall for the same defect. Despite their requests, the NHTSA says Graco did not include the infant restraints, even though they have the same buckle as the recalled items, because of their belief that their “infant seats are used differently than the toddler seats” and can be removed from a car in its entirety in case of emergency, unlike a toddler seat.

“Graco looks forward to further discussions with the agency to resolve any remaining in issues relation to those additional car seats,” Graco said in its letter to the NHTSA.

Last month Graco issued a voluntary recall for approximately 3.7 million of their child safety seats due to the malfunctioning buckles. “As part of our continuous product testing and improvement process, Graco identified that food and dried liquids can make some harness buckles progressively more difficult to open over time or become stuck in a latched position,” read Graco’s statement.

Child car seat models affected by the original recall are Toddler Convertible Car Seats: Cozy Cline, Comfort Sport, Classic Ride 50, My Ride 65, My Ride 70, My Ride 65 with Safety Surround, Size4Me 70, My Size 70, Head Wise 70 and Smart Seat. Three harnessed booster seats, Nautilus 3-in-1, Nautilus Elite and Argos, were also listed.

Prior to the recall expansion, customers affected were instructed to continue use of the potentially defective buckles. Customers were also offered a replacement buckle, free of charge.
