  • "GTA 6" has long been rumored to be in development
  • Rockstar Games has not confirmed anything
  • The studio is currently preparing to release the "GTA 5"

The "GTA 6" fans are once again hopeful an announcement regarding the game is imminent, following a recent website update made by Rockstar Games.

On Tuesday, Rockstar Games had posted a news page for "Red Dead Redemption Online" about its Naturalist rewards. The next day the studio seemed to have hinted at something the "Grand Theft Auto" community might find interesting, Gamerant reported.

The web page the team listed surprisingly does not contain anything other than the number 62005. Attempting to view its contents gives visitors the e398 error code.

The mysterious number triggered a lot of speculations within the "GTA" community. Prominent "Grand Theft Auto" insider Tez2 somehow downplayed the hype. The insider wrote on GTA Forums Rockstar Newswire might have "skipped an article once again." Rockstar Newswire is the official website for the latest news about the games from the studio.

Tez2 also noted the page in question could be hinting at upcoming "GTA Online" content or anything else entirely. "Could mean nothing or simply reserved for a ‘GTA Online Job Spotlight’ article etc. Heck, may not even have to do with GTA Online," Tez2 wrote on "GTA" forums, reported Gamerant.

There is nothing really in the web page that would link it with "GTA 6," but, of course, hopes are high that it could be somehow related to the game.

Take-Two Interactive, which owns Rockstar Games, was also mum when asked about "GTA 6." However, it clarified if there is something to announce, it would definitely come from the gaming studio. At the time of publication, Rockstar Games has not denied nor confirmed the existence of the game.

YouTuber MrBossFTW also commented on the mysterious web page of Rockstar Games. He noted "GTA 6" is already in full development and would most likely enter into pre-production for a year or two. It is worth noting these are speculations and not official information from the game developer.

Rockstar Games is currently preparing to release the "GTA 5" Expanded and Enhanced Edition for the PS5, Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S
