“Harry Potter” stars Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint have reunited for the first time since the release of the eighth and final “Harry Potter” film.

In a new photo from HBO Max’s upcoming special, “Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts,” the three stars sit together in lush burgundy seats inside the Gryffindor common room, one of the iconic shooting locations of the “Harry Potter” films.

The upcoming reunion special will mark the first time the trio is back together since 2011. It will be released in celebration of the anniversary of the first film in the franchise, “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone,” and will feature former cast and filmmakers of all the eight “Harry Potter” movies.

Joining Radcliffe, Watson and Grint in the special are Helena Bonham Carter, Robbie Coltrane, Ralph Fiennes, Jason Isaacs, Gary Oldman, Tom Felton, James Phelps, Oliver Phelps, Mark Williams, Bonnie Wright, Alfred Enoch, Matthew Lewis, Evanna Lynch and more. They will reminisce about their times on the movie sets in the special, which will be packed with interviews and fun conversations.

Earlier this month, HBO Max dropped a teaser for the upcoming reunion, showing Coltrane (Rubeus Hagrid), Lewis (Neville Longbottom) and Williams (Arthur Weasley) receiving their invitations to the special and getting ready to board the Hogwarts Express.

Ahead of the reunion, Watson took to Instagram to share how “proud” she is to be part of the franchise. Sharing a throwback photo of her and her co-stars, she wrote, “I am proud not just of what we as a group contributed as actors to the franchise but also as the children that became young adults that walked that path. I look at my fellow cast members now and I am just so proud of who everyone has become as people.”

“I am proud we were kind to each other that we supported one another and that we held up something meaningful. Happy 20th anniversary Potterheads! We hope you enjoy the Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts which will stream New Year’s Day, Jan. 1 on HBO Max. Lots to look forward to,” she continued.

“Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts” premieres on Jan. 1, 2022, on HBO Max.
