A whole week of new holiday films as part of Hallmark’s “Countdown to Christmas” begins with the first new film premiering during the week, “Heart of the Holidays.” The new movie stars Vanessa Lengies and Corey Sevier.

Fans will certainly recognize both stars, even if this is their first project together. While Lengies hasn’t yet worked on Hallmark, fans might recognize her from a myriad of different roles over the years—from movies like “Stick It,” to television shows, including “American Dreams,” where she portrayed Roxanne Bojarski, and “Glee,” where she portrayed Sugar Motta. This also isn’t her first holiday film, as she starred in Lifetime’s 2019 flick, “A Date By Christmas Eve.”

As for Sevier, he has been a staple on the holiday movie circuit for a while, starring in a mix of titles for both Lifetime and Hallmark, including “A Star For Christmas,” “Four Christmases and a Wedding,” “Grounded for Christmas” and “Matchmaker Christmas,” as well as Hallmark Movies and Mysteries’ “Northern Lights of Christmas.”

So what will happen in the pair’s first Hallmark Channel film together? According to a synopsis, a trip back home for the holidays will bring some unexpected new gifts.

“After her life in New York unexpectedly falls apart, powerhouse stockbroker Sam Wallace (Lengies) returns to her small town for the holidays and reconnects with her high school sweetheart, who helps reignite her humanitarian spirit just in time to help their community on Christmas,” the synopsis reads.

As she works to help the people she left behind when she moved to New York, will Sam also find herself once again falling for the man she left behind as well?

“Heart of the Holidays” premieres Monday, Nov. 23 at 8 p.m. EST on Hallmark Channel.
