“How I Met Your Mother” continued on Monday in its final season, chronicling the events surrounding Barney Stintson (Neil Patrick Harris) and Robin Scherbatsky’s (Cobie Smulders) wedding. Lily Aldrin (Alyson Hannigan) discovers Ted Mosby’s (Josh Radnor) “leaving New York City” bucket list and confronts him over the fact that she’s the only one who knows about his plans to leave New York. Meanwhile, Lily’s husband, Marshall Eriksen (Jason Segel), is making his way to Farhampton by truck, passing through Wisconsin in the process. Back at the resort, Barney and Robin are hiding from their old relatives, whom they liken to the walking dead. Take a look at GIFs from Season 9 Episode 3, titled “Last Time in New York,” here.

James sacrifices himself to the older relatives.
He gets “devoured” by their endless questions while Barney and Robin escape.
Robin accidentally reveals what happened to the bottle of Glen McKenna to Ted.

The Green Bay Packers fans surrounding him don’t approve and he cautiously puts it back on.
