Major (Robert Buckley) is getting closer to his imminent death.

In the trailer for Season 3, episode 3 of “iZombie,” Major’s health starts to deteriorate, and he finds out from Ravi (Rahul Kohli) that he only has a little time left to live.

“How long do I have?” asks Major, who took an older version of the zombie cure that will eventually kill him.

“Weeks, maybe,” replies Ravi.

Major’s worsening health condition is going to put more pressure on Ravi to formulate the perfect cure for zombie-ism. In Season 2, Ravi managed to come up with a cure that actually works. The downside, however, is that it causes memory loss to anyone who takes it.

“At the moment, the best that we can do is cure [Major’s zombie-ism], but lose [his] memory,” Kohli told Nerdist. “[But] that’s the situation we’ve had which is why no one else has taken the cure [except Blaine (David Anders)]. So Major’s on borrowed time and his journey and what he goes through will obviously motivate Ravi. … To lose the Major we know and have a cured dude who doesn’t remember anything, doesn’t remember us, doesn’t remember Liv (Rose McIver)? Does he give in and we lose Major altogether?”

Meanwhile, as also seen in the trailer, Blaine comes face-to-face with his father, Angus (Robert Knepper) after Don E (Bryce Hodgson) defrosted his body in Season 2 premiere. But unbeknown to Blaine, Angus made a deal with Don E to start their own brain business.

As for the episode’s case of the week, the synopsis for the episode reveals that Liv consumes the brain of a murdered lifestyle guru to help Clive (Malcolm Goodwin) solve the victim’s death. Also in the episode, Ravi's old boss, Katty Kupps (Christina Cox), gets closer to discovering the truth and gets closer to Ravi. Blaine and Peyton (Aly Michalka) also continue their budding friendship, much to Ravi's dismay.

“iZombie” Season 3, episode 3, titled “Eat, Pray, Liv,” airs on Tuesday, April 18 at 9 p.m. EDT on The CW. Watch the trailer below:
