Ever since she entered the cosmetics business, “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” star Kylie Jenner has faced one challenge and criticism after another.

So when she recently teased her fans about new lip kit reveals, people suspected something was up when competitor Jeffree Star stole her thunder and announced her new lip kit shades and names before she did.

A lot of fans still cannot forget the public lashing Star gave Jenner and her company last year. According to Seventeen, Star criticized Jenner’s products for being overpriced and even compared it to the $6 ColourPop lippies. He also said her products were subpar and suggested that her fame had something to do with her cosmetic company’s success.

Many agreed with Star and appreciated his opinions and even shared with him some of the negative experiences they had buying from Kylie Cosmetics. However, things seem to be all good between the two make-up moguls since Jenner even made a comment on Star’s post.

It’s good that Kylie Cosmetics is doing well recently, especially since the company hit several snags earlier this year. Just last February, TMZ reported that several customers filed complaints against Jenner’s products, particularly her eye kits, because they caused chemical-induced headaches.

Around 15 people had filed complaints with the Better Business Bureau, stating that Kylie’s Royal Peach eyeshadow palette smelled suspiciously of “chemicals and glue.” The customers even said the smell was similar to “spray paint” or “paint thinner.” One person who purchased the product claimed that the product smelled so foul that she had to put the whole package outside her house. Another customer claimed it gave her a “horrible headache.”

A few weeks later, a new batch of unhappy customers voiced their complaints on social media after they received empty boxes of highlighters, dubbed Kylighters, from Kylie Cosmetics.

Like most of her items, the Kylighters sold out quickly, according to the Revelist. Sadly, fans were shocked when their brand new Kylighters turned out to be empty, and they did not hesitate to express their disappointment on social media.
