Jennifer Aniston refused to believe that Brad Pitt left her for Angelina Jolie.

In an interview with Vanity Fair in 2005, months after Pitt and Aniston announced their separation, the “Murder Mystery” star got candid about her feelings regarding their split. Aniston confessed that the world was shocked and so was she when Pitt was spotted with Jolie frolicking at the beach with her son Maddox shortly after their separation.

Many felt that Pitt and Jolie had an affair and she was a victim. However, according to the publication, Aniston “vehemently rejects the interpretation” that Pitt left her for another woman, Jolie.

“I don’t feel like a victim,” Aniston explained.

“I’ve worked with this therapist for a long time, and her major focus is that you get one day of being a victim—and that’s it. Then we take responsibility for our own input. To live in a victim place is pointing a finger at someone else, as if you have no control. Relationships are two people; everyone is accountable.”

Aniston explained how many people get into a relationship together, with some getting into it falling apart. She added that even if it is 98 percent the other person’s fault and it’s two percent yours, you should focus on the latter because “you can only clean up your side of the street.”

Aniston also admitted that she felt pain, anger and embarrassment for Pitt publicly flaunting his instant family with Jolie. However, she took the high road. Aniston’s friend Andrea Bendewald even praised her for not bad-mouthing her ex-husband or making him the villain and herself, the victim.

In related news, Aniston and Pitt have just reunited at the Golden Globe Awards. Several were hoping that they would run into each other at the event, but they didn’t. However, they were reportedly seen chatting at the CAA after-party at the Sunset Tower Hotel in West Hollywood.

Pitt was asked on the red carpet if it is fine with him to run into his ex-wife and the “Ad Astra” star said he didn’t mind it because Aniston’s a “good friend.” Pitt and Aniston have rekindled their friendship. Last year, Pitt was present at Aniston’s 50th birthday bash and holiday party.

Angelina Jolie had all eyes on her on the 2012 Oscars red carpet. The 38-year-old mother of six flaunted her figure - particularly her right leg - in a black velveteen, strapless Atelier Versace gown with a thigh-high slit. Many noticed that the dress looked near-identical to one Jennifer Aniston wore in 2010. Who do you think looked better? Reuters/PA
