19 kids and counting

Josh Duggar may have a lot on his plate right now with a new baby on the way, but that didn’t stop the “19 Kids and Counting” star from pranking his fans Wednesday. On April Fools’ Day, the father of three posted on Twitter that his sister Jill Dillard (Duggar) had given birth, to twins.

While fans of the Duggar family patiently await the arrival of Jill’s first baby -- she is currently nine days overdue -- her older brother Josh tweeted she had already delivered:

Thankfully for fans who have long been told Jill will welcome only one baby, a boy, Josh immediately gave them peace of mind by adding the hashtag #AprilFools to the post. Despite his clearly indicating the delivery news was a joke, some viewers appeared confused by the false announcement.

“Ok, wasn’t expecting that. Congrats guys. I’m happy for you,” one fan responded Wednesday. “Twin girls, right?” another Twitter user asked. “Sorry to bother you Josh but did they have their baby and did really have twins?” yet another user inquired.

While Jill, 23, and Derick, 25, did not engage with Josh, 27, over the social-media prank, the prospective mother did give her fans a baby update Wednesday afternoon. “Getting some things done while anticipating the arrival of our little man any day!” Jill posted on Instragram alongside an image of herself apparently filling out paperwork.

Jill was initially due to deliver her son, who she currently calls Baby Dilly, March 24. She recently announced she now believes her delivery will occur closer to April 5. The baby will not be the first grandchild for her parents, Michelle Duggar and Jim Bob Duggar. Josh has three children with his wife, Anna: Mackynzie, 5, Michael, 3, and Marcus, 1.

Despite rumors indicating Anna and Josh are expecting twins, the couple recently confirmed they will welcome just one baby, a girl, in June. “We’re having a girl, and we’re really excited. We can’t wait,” Josh said in a gender announcement video last month. “Thanks so much for the well wishes.”

Anna and Josh have yet to reveal the child’s name. After they gave their three older children moniker beginning with “M,” however, it appears they might stick to that trend. “We are close to announcing the name, but haven’t yet,” Josh recently teased in People magazine. “We are likely going down the same path, but we’ll just have to wait and see!”
