Original Story:

Julie Chen is said to be quitting at least one of her jobs at CBS. The television personality will reportedly announce her official departure from the network’s afternoon talk show “The Talk” on Tuesday. But what does this mean for her role hosting reality series “Big Brother” on the network?

Since the beginning of “Big Brother” in 2000, Chen has hosted the program, which houses over a dozen contestants in a sound stage for weeks as they compete in competitions in the hopes of being the sole $500,000 winner. The series is currently at the tail-end of Season 20, but Chen’s future with the show may be up in the air.

Vulture reports that Chen, 40, “is expected to announce she’s leaving the daytime talk show, effective immediately,” during Tuesday’s installment of “The Talk,” which airs at 2 p.m. EDT daily on CBS. Her announcement is expected to take place via a video message.

“She has decided that her main focus needs to be clearing her husband’s name from accusations made 25-30 years ago and tending to her son,” a source told CNN.

Chen’s leave from “The Talk” comes after her husband, Les Moonves, the former chief executive of CBS Corp., parted ways with the network earlier this month following multiple assault and sexual harassment allegations. Chen gave support to her husband of 14 years on-air during a Sept. 13 episode of “Big Brother” by signing off with her full name, Julie Chen Moonves.

At this time, Vulture reports Chen is “expected to stick” with her “Big Brother” hosting gig until the show ends next week. TMZ also reports Chen will stick out her run on “BB20” in the meantime.

The site added there is “no word on who will replace” her on the network, but actress Claudia Jordan has already made it clear she’s open to taking Chen’s spot on “The Talk.”
