Justin Bieber and his wife Hailey Baldwin may be having a little trouble in paradise as the two were caught walking the streets of New York City, looking a little worse for wear.

Bieber, who is in New York City for mental health-related treatments, may still be talking to his ex Selena Gomez, which could be the reason behind the couple’s foul mood, Radar Online reported.

According to a source for the news outlet, “Justin and Selena are in contact from time to time because they have both gone through really dark periods this past year at almost the same time.”

The news of Bieber’s and Gomez’s on-again friendship follows Baldwin’s appearance at the Met Gala solo. Gomez also didn’t attend the event, which the Radar Online source said was “because she thinks that Hailey is a phase that Justin is going through, and Hailey knows this. Justin recently said that he still loved Selena — and Hailey lost it.”

Bieber and Baldwin got married after only a few weeks of dating. Bieber, who has had an on-again-off-again relationship with Gomez, has been slammed by fans that insist he is still in love with the pop singer. Bieber has repeatedly denied the rumors about Gomez and has stood up for his wife continuously throughout their marriage.
