Kailyn Lowry Responds To Girlfriend Rumors After Being ‘Busted’ At Gay Pride: ‘Teen Mom 2’ Star Dated Women For Years, Source Says

“Teen Mom 2” star Kailyn Lowry responded Tuesday to rumors that she was in a relationship with a woman. A picture of her kissing friend Becky Hayter went viral after she went to the Gay Pride Parade in Asbury Park, New Jersey, Sunday.

Lowry, 24, didn’t confirm or deny whether she was in a relationship. But she also seemed irritated by speculation about her sexuality. “Do I have to be gay or straight? Can't I just love people?” she wrote to her 1.14 million followers. The post was liked more than a thousand times.

Two days prior, Lowry captioned an Instagram photo of herself and Hayter: “girlfriend status.” Hayter had her arm around the MTV reality star for the image. The picture attracted more than 54,000 likes from her 2.4 million followers.

While some fans were shocked to see Lowry with a woman, her friends are familiar with her fluid sexuality. “For people who know her, this is nothing new,” an insider told Radar Online about the mother of two. “She has always liked girls.”

Lowry reportedly hooked up with a friend, Gigi Hanna, in 2012. “Gigi was always staying over her house for sleepovers,” an insider told Star magazine at the time.

Despite nearly four years of marriage, Lowry and estranged husband Javi Marroquin, 23, weren’t able to make things work. “There was always a disconnect,” an insider told Us Weekly Thursday. “They’ve been unhealthy for a while, and Kail knew divorce was inevitable.” Another anonymous source added: “The bottom line is they were two strong personalities who both want to be in control living together. They clashed.”

Even though they just made their breakup public last week, the couple has been separated since December. They share son Lincoln, nearly 3, together. Lowry has son Isaac, 6, from her relationship with Jo Rivera.
