Katy Perry’s Ex Russell Brand Ties Knot With Baby Mama Laura Gallacher
Russell Brand has tied the knot for the second time! The comedian married the mother of his daughter and longtime partner, Laura Gallacher, with the two exchanging vows during an intimate ceremony this weekend.
On Saturday, the English actor wed Gallacher in a ceremony held at Remenham Church, which is near their home in Henley-on-Thames in England. In attendance at the private affair were Oasis singer Noel Gallagher, British TV host Jonathan Ross and comedian David Baddiel, as per BBC.
British publication Mirror published pictures taken at the ceremony of the bride and groom. Though Brand’s second wedding was relatively small, it did have some lavish elements, according to some sources. Apparently, the guests were seen boarding a New Orleans-style paddle steamer for the reception.
In his “Radio X” podcast, Brand publicly announced the wedding news, saying, “I’m living a married life now… domestic.” He left out specific details about the special event.
Gallacher is Brand’s longtime girlfriend and the mother of his 10-month-old daughter, Mabel, who was also present at the wedding, The Sun reported. Brand announced that they were welcoming their first bundle of joy in July 2016 through an Instagram post. The “Get Him to the Greek” actor shared a selfie holding a book entitled “The Expectant Dad’s Handbook,” and noted in the caption that it was “time to get ready!”
Brand’s wedding comes one day before his first wife Katy Perry is set to host this year’s MTV VMAs. The stand-up comedian tied the knot with Perry in 2010, but unfortunately parted ways with her two years later.
Brand and the “Swish Swish” singer's split was not amicable at the start. However, the two have come to terms with their failed relationship in recent months, as proven by how they have complimented one another. For instance, Perry stated that Brand is someone “beautiful in their own right” during her “Witness” livestream event, as pointed out by ET Online.
Brand spoke positively of Perry during his appearance on “John Bishop: In Conversation With.” “Obviously the marriage didn't last for a very long time, and I think that is to do with the undulated nature of fame and that living in those conditions and what was happening,” he said. “I have come away from that experience feeling — I still feel very warm towards her. I feel like, when I hear about her or see her, ‘Aw, there’s that person,’ ‘There’s that person in the world.’”
