Krispy Kreme is not participating in Talk Like a Pirate Day once again. In previous years, the coffee and doughnut chain celebrated the Sept. 19 holiday by giving away free donuts to customers who talked and dressed like their favorite swashbucklers. In 2017, Krispy Kreme didn’t offer the beloved promotion and it appears the same will be happening again this year.

Krispy Kreme confirmed via Twitter on Monday that they would not be celebrating Talk Like a Pirate Day 2018 in stores. When asked by International Business Times to confirm the cancellation, the restaurant chain did not respond by press time.

While donut lovers won’t be able to get their free donut this Talk Like a Pirate Day, they can still get a freebie from the chain this week. On Tuesday, the company is giving away a complimentary Pumpkin Spice Cake Doughnut to customers who are part of their rewards program. Customers over the age of 13 can join Krispy Kreme’s rewards program free of charge here.

Those who are not rewards members can still get a free Pumpkin Spice Cake Doughnut with any purchase.

Last year, Krispy Kreme revealed on Twitter that they were not participating in their annual Talk Like a Pirate Day promotion. “As a company we’re not repeating TLAPDay this year. Ahoy! Talk Like a Pirate Day is still a holiday & you can still have fun dressing up. However, we will not be giving away doughnuts for it,” the company wrote to customers at the time.

While patrons did not get their free glazed doughnuts, the company’s Twitter did tell its fan they were more than welcome to dress up in store for the holiday, writing, “Please bring your friends, parents, grandparents and kids to dress up. We love costumes and fun with the family.”
