'Kung Fu Panda 3': Images Show Po With Other Pandas
New images from the animated film “Kung Fu Panda 3” have emerged online and they show Po (voiced by Jack Black) spending quality time with other pandas. In one image released by DreamWorks via Comingsoon, Po can be seen floating in water with three little pandas. In another photo, he can be seen posing with an older panda and in another a female panda can be seen giving a performance on a stage. She appears to be wearing a kimono and appears to be doing a ribbon dance.
“Kung Fu Panda 3” will reportedly feature some new characters and there will be more pandas apart from Po in the land of animal warriors. According to USA Today, Po will reunite with his long lost father Li (Bryan Cranston) and will discover a new place where pandas have been living since the events of 2011’s “Kung Fu Panda 2.”
“There is great joy. Lo and behold, there’s a secret panda village. There’s intense rejoicing as I am reunited with my people. There are even cute baby pandas. Those guys are going to be the life of the party, for sure,” Black said.
Po will also have an unusual encounter with the first female of his own species and Web speculation suggests that love can blossom between the two. "Po's a little freaked out, since he's never been around a female of his own species. I don't think he has game in that realm yet, ” Black said.
The film will also feature a supernatural villain Kai and Po will train the fellow pandas in order to fight Kai. The underlying themes of a father-son relationship will also be explored, as Po’s adopted father, noodle shop-owning duck Mr. Ping (James Hong), will feel insecure after Po finds his biological father.
Jennifer Yuh Nelson and Alessandro Carloni have directed the film from the story by Jonathan Aibel and Glenn Berger. Hans Zimmer has supplied the music. Other actors supplying voices include Angelina Jolie, Dustin Hoffman, Lucy Liu, Seth Rogen, Jackie Chan, David Cross, Randall Duk Kim, Rebel Wilson, and J.K. Simmons. The film opens Jan. 29, 2016.
