LA Police Search For Girl Dragged Away By Her Hair
Los Angeles police officers on Tuesday scoured hillsides and undeveloped areas of the city in search of a girl witnesses say was dragged away by her hair, according to the Associated Press.
The apparent victim was reportedly involved in a argument with a male, who allegedly struck her in the face at least once, before pulling her away by her scalp, into a brush area. Witnesses said he also started to take her clothes off.
Witnesses describe the victim as a petite woman or girl, possibly 13, or older. Police say the suspect is an 18-20-year-old male.
Law enforcement on foot, horseback, and in the air, searched 455 acres of the El Sereno Hills looking for the potential victim. No person was found, but officers did recover leggings and tennis shoes.
“My hope is that this was a dispute that was resolved in some way, but we have to treat everything like it’s the real deal,” Police Chief Charlie Beck said at a news conference.
While no one has reported a missing girl, Beck believes all witnesses accounts were credible.
