  • From Software has not yet announced the release date of "Elden Ring"
  • The game is set to launch on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One
  • "Elden Ring" game director recently shared a new set of updates about the game

Following a very long time of information drought, the team behind the much-awaited title "Elden Ring," finally let out new details about the game.

At the 23rd Japan Media Arts Festival hosts Sayawaka and Tokita Takahashi read the statement of Game Director Hidetaka Miyazaki about "Elden Ring." The game director mentioned that the game would be the deepest From Software has ever done in terms of mythos and history. The statement noted that the much-awaited game would feature some kind of open-world feel and explained how it would be possible for players to ride horses to move around.

Miyazaki's statement also hinted that "Elden Ring" will have some of the themes dominant in George R.R. Martin's works. Some staff from the popular TV series "Game of Thrones" are currently working on the game. It is not clear, however, what exactly that means. Interestingly, it appears that "Elden Ring" would emphasize themes of politics, citizenship and racism, among others.

The statement reads "This is one that I personally like and I think it's a very painful fantasy drama... There's pain there and from a human perspective there are themes of racism, politics, citizenship, and so on. So this is a work that is psychologically quote painful in a lot of ways and making a game with Miyazaki which such a huge world view.. on a world-level, everyone's looking forward to it so..."

For those who follow "Elden Ring" news very closely, industry insider Omni earlier leaked that politics is one of the themes that would be tackled in the game. This kind of information is not at all surprising, considering that From Software games usually feature politics, conflicts between races and racism.

The latest update about "Elden Ring" is not that much, but at the end of the day at least it is reassuring, especially for fans, that the game is in development. There is no word on when fans can expect to see the game. The next big event in the gaming industry is The Games Awards 2020 happening on December 10.

"Elden Ring" is set to release for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. A release date has yet to be announced.
