While Nintendo has not yet offered any new updates related to "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2 (BOTW 2)," a recent job listing may have hinted at the game's development status.

Nintendo-owned gaming studio Monolith Soft has recently announced its hiring for a "big increase" at its studio in Kyoto. The video game development studio listed 14 job openings across six roles. According to Gamingbolt, five of these job posts are specifically listed for "The Legend of Zelda," speculating that perhaps it could be for "BOTW 2."

Monolith Soft is best known for the "Xenoblade" series. The gaming studio has provided development support for some of Nintendo's first-party titles, including "Animal Crossing: New Horizons," "Splatoon 2" and "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild." The job listings, presumably related to "BOTW 2," could mean that the game's development is kicking up a notch.

However, these are just speculations at this time.

"BOTW 2" Release Date

Nintendo announced "BOTW 2" in June 2019, but it has remained silent in providing updates on its development. The Japanese gaming giant promised that it would provide more information about the game before the year ends. So far, fans are still waiting for the company to announced the sequel's release date.

Previous rumors suggested that Nintendo might make "BOTW 2" as one of the launch titles of the rumored Switch Pro. If this is the case, fans could expect the game to launch sometime in the later part of 2021 or in the early part of 2022. Others believe that more updates about the game sequel might be provided at the next Nintendo event, which is anticipated to happen in June.

This recent detail, seemingly related to "BOTW 2," is not official. Fans should therefore temper their expectations and take this information with skepticism. "BOTW 2" is currently in the works. The game is rumored to launch on Nintendo Switch Pro.
