LG is gearing up to launch a smartphone dubbed the LG G4 S, which will be a midrange variant of the flagship LG G4. The key configurations of the handset were revealed via the GFXBench benchmark test site.

The Korean tech giant has not revealed the LG G4 S release date, but GSM Arena says the device will be released soon. The handset will flaunt a 5.2-inch display, packed with 1,920 x 1,080 pixels screen resolution. This wallet-friendly handset will come powered by an octa-core, 64-bit (Qualcomm Snapdragon 615) Cortex-A53 processor and the graphics will be provided by Adreno 405.

For memory, the LG G4 S will come equipped with 16 GB of built-in storage capacity and microSD card slot for further expansion. Moreover, the handset will come backed by a good 2GB of RAM configuration. The device will run on the latest Android 5.1.1 Lollipop OS, straight out of the box.

The LG G4 S will sport an 8 MP rear-facing camera with LED flash and HDR support. In addition, there will also be a gracious 5 MP front-facing snapper for capturing selfies. Apart from the standard connectivity options like Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, the phone will also support NFC.

In the meantime, another handset named LG G Pro 3 is reportedly under development. GSM Arena says this is believed to be a high-end phablet packed with a 6.0-inch display and QHD screen resolution. It will come powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset, and 4 GB of RAM configuration will back the hardware components. The Pro 3 will run on Android 5.1 Lollipop. Lastly, this phablet is expected to feature the now-famous multi-window multitasking option. In any case, readers should note that LG has not confirmed the LG G Pro 3 or LG G4 S specifications thus far.
