‘Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta’ Star Tammy Rivera Explains Her Beef With D. Smith [VIDEO]
Tammy Rivera says there was a lot that wasn’t shown on TV about her altercation with her “Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta” cast member, D. Smith. As recapped, Tammy and the transgender producer got into an argument on episode 3 of the VH1 show. It ended with Tammy taking jabs at D. Smith’s appearance and “crooked wig.”
In an interview with VH1, Tammy explained that she met up with D. Smith because she wanted to work out their issues but said things went downhill after D. Smith called herself a “serpent.”
“What you didn’t see, was, she was like, ‘Oh I’m like a snake.’ She was just f--king weird,” Tammy said, adding that D. Smith’s comment explained why she also got into a fight with the producer’s best friend, Betty Idol.
“I was just like, you’re a snake and you know it. Ok, b----, now I know where this all came from. The first time [we met], she was sweet and she was talking about the Lord, and everyone knows I’m a spiritual person and I go off of like energy, so I was like she’s really cool, she’s spiritual, she has a good vibe,” she continued. “The next time … I feel like I was attacked by her friend, and then I met with her a third time to try and get some clarification and as soon as she called herself a snake, the conversation was over. It was just time to go.”
Tammy and D. Smith actually didn’t have any beef until the producer brought up old comments Tammy’s husband Waka Flocka Flame made bashing transgender people, specifically Caitlyn Jenner. Tammy tried to explain that her husband didn’t discriminate and invited her castmate to an event so she could meet Waka in person. However, D. Smith declined to accept Tammy’s invitation. Clearly, Tammy and D. Smith are still not on good terms.
“Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta” airs Mondays at 8 p.m. EDT on VH1.
