Maddie Ziegler Reveals New Social Media Account, Discusses Her Dance Fame
From starring in Sia music videos to winning competitions on Lifetime’s “Dance Moms” and working with Capezio, there’s no denying Maddie Ziegler is an inspirational dancer. But if you were to ask the 13-year-old performer what she thinks of her claims to fame, she believes still has a long way to go. Fortunately for her, the people of Dance.com thinks she’s the perfect fit! On the heels of rumors she’s parting ways with “Dance Moms,” Maddie has another public venture to look forward to.
Maddie has announced she’s partnered with Dance.com, a social media platform where dancers alike can connect, learn new moves, find auditions and inspire one another. “There are so many other online platforms out there today but none that are just for dancers,” Maddie told International Business Times via email of her reason for signing up. “I thought the idea of bringing together everyone who loves dance was great.”
While Maddie, who will also continue to post on her other social media accounts, has already gathered an impressive number of followers on the site, she says she feels she has a long way to go in the world of dance. “It’s kind of crazy,” Maddie told IBT of her dance fame. “I’m still so young and there’s still so much I want to do! It’s an amazing feeling to have other dancers look up to me and be interested in what I’m doing. I’m very grateful for all the opportunities I’ve been given.”
Despite Maddie’s fans have long told her she’s their inspiration, the dancer of 10 years says its her supporters who inspire her. “My fans have been so supportive over the years and I love begin able to interact with [them]. I always love seeing videos of them dancing or seeing photos from a dance show they were in. As much as they tell me I inspire them, they all really inspire me.”
As for Maddie’s “Dance Moms” ALDC (Abby Lee Dance Company) teammates, she says she’s encouraged them to join the site as well. “I think it’s important for my #dancefam to know that Dance.com is really a place where we can encourage each other and learn from one another,” she explained. “It doesn’t matter what style of dance your training is in or how good you are, there are so many dancers from different background like ballet, hip hop and even salsa dancing.”
Maddie’s fans can watch her performance on “Dance Moms” Tuesdays at 9 p.m. EST on Lifetime. Follow Maddie Ziegler on Dance.com here.
