‘Married At First Sight: The First Year’ Spoilers: Premiere Date Revealed; What Have Doug, Jamie, Jason And Cortney Been Up To?

Have you missed your favorite “Married At First Sight” couples? Luckily, they’ll be back on your TV screens in 2015. “Married At First Sight: The First Year” is set to premiere on Jan. 13, and fans will be able to catch up with the couples who stayed together after their blind arranged marriages in "Married At First Sight" Season 1. The docu-series will follow Jamie Otis and Doug Hehner, as well as Cortney Hendrix and Jason Carrion, as they make it to their one year anniversaries in March 2015.

Fans who have kept up with the couples on social media already know what the cast has been up to. Jamie had to work hard to get over her vulnerability issues in “Married At First Sight” Season 1, but it seems that she and Doug are closer than ever now. They went house hunting, and Jamie even tweeted about babies. Jamie also started an online book club where she revealed plenty of inside details on her relationship.

“I personally think that bringing in a toy is perfectly fine and it’s fun,” Jamie said when discussing her sex life with Doug. "And if your husband really, you know, is kind of bored and you can tell he’s bored … I think introducing a toy and, you know, just experiencing that and experimenting with it is a great way to get him right back into your corner.”

Jason and Cortney fans will remember that Jason feared how his time at the fire academy would affect his relationship. The two apparently made it through the ordeal. Cortney posted a picture of the two of them at his graduation ceremony on Instagram last month. It doesn’t seem like Jason’s firefighting career will hurt their relationship, but his professional fighting might be a new obstacle for them.

Jason is still a heavyweight fighter. He recently won the W.O.W. Heavyweight Title -- but Cortney was almost in the fight. Jason’s opponent nearly punched his wife in the face on accident, but luckily, Cortney ducked in time. Cortney wasn’t so helpless though. When the fighter had another close call, she punched him in the face. “Married At First Sight: The First Year” cameras were there to document it all, so fans might see it when the FYI series returns. Unfortunately, fellow Season 1 stars Vaughn Copeland and Monet Bell decided to divorce. However, that doesn’t mean they’re excluded from the spin-off series. The series will also “check-in” with the divorced couple, according to a press release.
