Since getting killed off AMC's hit zombie drama "The Walking Dead," actress Emily Kinney has been taking on a number of guest roles in fan-beloved shows like "The Flash" and "The Knick." Now, she's adding another popular drama to her resume.

Showtime announced on Tuesday that the 29-year-old is joining the cast of “Masters of Sex” alongside stars Michael Sheen and Lizzy Caplan. The series, which focuses on a group of like-minded scientists exploring the nature of human sexuality, will begin its third season on July 12.

Kinney will be playing a character that’s a far cry from her previous role as Beth on AMC’s “The Walking Dead,” where she was killed in one of the more dramatic moments of the series in Season 4. According to Entertainment Weekly she’ll play a character on “Masters of Sex” named Nora. She’s a neighbor to Bill and Libby Masters. While she’s got the girl next-door look, her role in Season 3 will be as a sex surrogate for the next phase of their ongoing research.

While Kinney is one of the most exciting additions to the cast, she’s not the only new face showing up in Season 3. The Hollywood Reporter notes that she’ll be joined in the 1966 period-drama by Josh Charles, Maggie Grace, Julie Ann Emery and Tate Donovan.

This isn’t the first time that Kinney’s name has been in the news lately. Last month rumors started to circulate that she’d started a relationship with her former “Walking Dead” co-star Norman Reedus. The two New York natives had been spotted around town together as well as on the road where Kinney was playing some music. However, the actor was quick to dispel those rumors and assure the public that the only thing they developed during their time on the show was a close, chaste friendship.
