Lana Wachowski, the director of the highly anticipated movie "The Matrix Resurrections," has revealed Keanu Reeves' reaction to the final output of the movie.

The 56-year-old director attended Berlin International Literature Festival on Friday and said the 57-year-old actor was "blown away" by how the movie turned out to be.

"We showed the film to Keanu, and he really was blown away by it, and he said something that was typically Keanu, where it's incredibly insightful," the director said.

"[Reeves] He's just sort of sitting there, and you don't expect some incredible revelation to come out of him at that moment, but he-like casual brilliance just kind of rolls off of Keanu," Wachowski recalled.

After watching the movie, the actor was impressed by the way Wachowski made the movie.

Reeves said "Twenty years ago you told a story in which you described the coming twenty years and the problems of the nature of digital, virtual life and how it was going to impact us and how we think about it, and gave us a frame to be able to think about it and talk about it. And you took the same character and the same stories and the same stuff, and somehow you made it about the next twenty years. How did you do that?" the director recalled.

"The Matrix Resurrections" will mark the fourth installment of the "Matrix" franchise. The movie is slated to release in theaters and on the HBO Max platform on Dec. 22. It also stars Priyanka Chopra, Carrie-Anne Moss, Jessica Henwick, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Daniel Bernhardt and Neil Patrick Harris.

The first installment of the franchise was released in 1999 and it was also directed by Wachowski, along with her sister Lilly.

Besides "Matrix," Reeves will lend his voice to an animated movie, titled "Super Pets," which is slated to release on May 20 next year. Many other stars, including Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart and John Krasinski, will also be part of the movie.

The actor is currently filming another popular franchise sequel, "John Wick: Chapter 4." "John Wick: Chapter 5" is under pre-production.
