  • Donald Trump was called ignorant after Melania Trump posted about coronavirus rumors

Melania Trump and Donald Trump were recently lambasted after the first lady posted a tweet encouraging everyone to not believe all of the rumors that they have been hearing about the deadly coronavirus.

On Wednesday, the FLOTUS encouraged her Twitter followers to only listen to reliable sources when it comes to coronavirus.

“It is important to stay informed and understand the facts about #COVID19. If you are unsure if the information is accurate, use the @fema Rumor Control website as a resource,” she wrote alongside a link to FEMA.

However, the first lady was mocked after people saw her tweet because her husband, Donald Trump, has been spreading inaccurate information about the pandemic. For instance, the POTUS claimed that coronavirus is a hoax and that it will be completely gone by the summer.

Journalists and some netizens couldn’t help but share their thoughts about Melania’s tweet. Journalist Latika M. Bourke said that the FLOTUS’s post is quite ironic.

“You might want to show this to that ignorant piece of [expletive] you most certainly married for love,” Twitter user @NoApartheidEver said.

“Wouldn’t it help if @POTUS weren’t the one starting the rumors in the first place?” Twitter user @jenminicooper said.

“Also… be sure to skip all of your husband’s press briefings because he lies multiple times at each one,” Twitter user @5MilesHigher said.

“Best thing to do is NOT listen to anything Trump has to say. Listen to the professionals in your area, they know what's really going on,” Twitter user @trumpsatwit said.

“Your husband doesn't even know the facts,” Twitter user @StephanieWhint3 said.

“Maybe start with your husband's RUMOR CONTROL...the hypocrisy is astounding,” Twitter user @radiochick841 said.

“You should @ your husband in this one,” Twitter user @Trebworld said.

“Trump knew. He did nothing,” Twitter user @jenifer__5 said.

“#BeQuiet,” Twitter user @lib_owned said.

“Tell your sugar daddy that he has no clue what he’s doing… just tell him to be best,” Twitter user @nuyakdude said.
