  • Melania Trump and President Donald Trump have an unusual kind of marriage
  • The first couple does not have any amount of 'bitterness' in their relationship
  • Melania Trump and President Donald Trump work independently

Melania Trump and Donald Trump are, undeniably, two of the most talked-about personalities today. Several people look up to the FLOTUS and POTUS being one of the most powerful pairs in the world today. Aside from their authority and influence, the first couple is also praised for being independent of each other.

CNN reporter Kate Bennett described Melania and President Donald as an “independent” couple during an interview on the news channel’s “New Day” in Dec. 2019. The journalist, who released the “Free, Melania: The Unauthorized Biography” book late last year, revealed to the hosts John Berman and Alisyn Camerota that the first couple’s marriage is hard to analyze.

Kate divulged that, even if Melania Trump and her husband have been together for 20 years already, they, still, do not share a bedroom. Though it is not usual, the author believes the couple does not have “bitterness” in their marriage. She said Melania and Donald may have the same function as parents to Barron but they think and work individually in other things.

“I think that this is an independent couple. They are not joined at the hip, as her office has told me several times. She's independent, she likes her own space, she's a bit of a loner,” Kate Bennett revealed. “And I think that the first couple have, in their 20 years together, found a way to make their marriage work and one of those things is not sharing a bedroom,” she went on.

In an interview with Washingtonian, Kate revealed that Melania Trump and President Donald talk to each other on the phone throughout the day. She added that one has to have a “legit survival skills” to be married to the POTUS for two decades.

In her newly released book, Kate also shared how more influential and powerful Melania is than what most people think. She even cited a situation where the FLOTUS demonstrated her control during the termination of Mira Ricardel as one of the President’s senior national security advisors in 2018.

Reports have it that Melania Trump’s staff and Mira had a rift over seating on the plane. CNN reported that the former security advisor, allegedly, used her National Security Council resources and was, later, accused of lying about the quarrel.

"It is the position of the Office of the First Lady that (Ricardel) no longer deserves the honor of serving in this White House," White House press secretary Stephanie Grisham said in a statement. The Wall Street Journal, then, reported that Mia was terminated and escorted off the White House grounds a few hours after the announcement.
