Melissa King Scandal Continues: Former Miss Delaware Teen USA Has Outstanding Warrants For Arrest
As reported by IBTimes, Melissa King resigned as Miss Delaware Teen USA after a porn video was published online by GirlsDoPorn.com. King has denied that the woman in the video is her but resigned later to avoid further scandal and speculation. The runner-up to King, Hailey Lawler, has since been named Miss Delaware Teen USA. In the wake of the scandal, porn giant YouPorn offered her a $250,000 contract to become the company's global ambassador and offered her a new title, Miss YouPorn.
Unfortunately for King, while her appearance in a porn video cannot be confirmed, her past has come to back to haunt her again following news that warrants had been issued for King’s arrest in 2012.
Two warrants were issued by Ocean City, Md., police for King’s arrest last year, reports the Associated Press. King was supposed to appear in court after receiving a citation for theft and underage possession of alcohol.
The theft charge stems from a June 2012 incident in which King allegedly stole money from a city bus in Maryland. In August, King was cited for underage possession of alcohol. A warrant was issued for the theft charge in August, while a warrant was issued for the alcohol charge in October, notes the AP.
Both warrants are currently active, reports the News Journal. Although King cannot be extradited to Maryland, she can turn herself in in Maryland to face the charges. The theft charge, according to officer Mike Levy, an Ocean City police department spokesman, was for less than $100.
Further details about the porn video published on GirlsDoPorn.com have put King’s denial in doubt. As reported by the News Journal, the woman on the video says her name is “Melissa King” as she recites a statement giving her consent to being filmed, relinquishing her rights to the video and that the author of the video has the right to use it as they see fit. Neither King nor her lawyer, J. Gregory Hannigan, has commented about the active warrants.
