On June 25, eight years ago, the world lost king of pop Michael Jackson. He died at the age of 50 due to cardiac arrest following acute intoxication of drugs propofol and benzodiazepine.

Since his death, several people have come up with theories explaining the pop singer’s death. While the official reason for Jackson’s death was revealed to be cardiac arrest following drug intoxication, some people believed he was murdered. And among these believers is Paris Jackson, the late singer’s 19-year-old daughter.

In an interview with Rolling Stone magazine in January, Paris said her father was a victim of murder.

"He would drop hints about people being out to get him," she told the magazine. "And at some point he was like, 'They're gonna kill me one day.'"

"It's obvious. All arrows point to that," Paris said. "It sounds like a total conspiracy theory, and it sounds like bulls---, but all real fans and everybody in the family knows it. It was a setup."

Dr. Conrad Murray, a physician who treated Jackson in his final months, was convicted in 2011 for involuntary manslaughter after he gave the megastar a fatal dose of propofol.

However, for years, people published several theories surrounding Jackson and his death. Following are few of them. A word of caution: these theories are nothing more than theories.

Jackson faked his own death

A popular conspiracy theory says Jackson’s troubled financial conditions was not a secret. Michael Jackson's precarious financial position has been well documented. He was about $400 million in debt and had been under pressure from creditors to increase his finances. The singer wanted to escape and faked his death. His "death" boost up sales of his released albums, which aided in repaying debts. The theory also said Jackson later moved to Mexico.

Jackson cloned himself before his death

In October 2014, director of the New York Center for Extraterrestial Reaseach Michael C. Luckman claimed Jackson cloned himself before he died. Luckman said he was informed about his by late celebrity fashion designer Andre Van Pier.

Luckman reportedly said at the time: ''Van Pier first learned of the futuristic cloning experiments and the secret sperm deposits from a close associate at a longevity center based in Panama. Michael's enthusiasm for cloning began with the successful cloning of Dolly the Sheep and escalated following false claims by the Raelians, a UFO cult group with headquarters in Canada, that they had cloned the first human baby.''

''Michael wanted this happen, and spent time and money trying to achieve his goal. We could see many dead stars resurrected with science. Canadian dentist Dr. Michael Zuk purchased one of John Lennon's teeth at auction and has announced plans to use the DNA from the tooth to create a perfect double of the former Beatle,'' Luckman said.

The Illuminati killed him

Another conspiracy theory surrounding Jackson’s death is that he was killed by the secret society Illuminati. The theory alleged the singer was affiliated to the secret society but he began to realize the danger of the Illuminati. He then began slipping association with the secret society into his album artwork in a bid to pass on information to authorities about the group. However, the Illuminati allegedly came to know of Jackson’s plans and killed him.
