  • Tyson challenges former multi-division champ James Toney
  • Hollywood star Michael Jai White has agreed to fight "Iron Mike" for free

After Roy Jones Jr., Mike Tyson now has his sights on another former world champion.

He has defied the laws of time and managed to make a successful boxing return. At 54 years old, “Iron Mike” has vowed to continue fighting to help fellow retired pugilists who are in need through exhibition contests.

Now, the boxing world is bracing itself to know who will be Tyson’s next opponent. Apparently, the wait won’t be too long as the former world heavyweight champion himself has just called out James Toney.

In a recent talk with Elie Seckbach of EsNews moments after taping one of the latest episodes of “Hot Boxin’ with Mike Tyson,” the legend was asked about his thoughts on possibly fighting Toney next.

As expected, Tyson was thrilled and eager to make the fight happen. However, he wants “Lights Out” to lose weight first so they can both give the fans a great show.

“He’s [Toney] still 300 pounds man. We need him to be slim,” Tyson said. “James, get in shape baby! We can do it. You know I wanna get you some money.”

Like Jones Jr., Toney has also held multiple belts in different weight classes, from middleweight all the way up to heavyweight.

The 52-year-old has never been knocked out in his entire professional career, and in 2003, he famously beat Tyson’s ultimate rival Evander Holyfield.

But for Tyson, none of Toney’s feats matter at present as he strongly believes the Michigan native didn’t manage to save a huge chunk of earnings from all those fights.

“But he [doesn’t] have no money from those hundred fights,” he said of Toney’s career. “So what’s so good about that? Tell me the winning side of that.”

Prior to Toney, Tyson had already been linked to Hollywood star and mixed martial artist Michael Jai White.

White, who portrayed the famous slugger in the 1995 movie “Tyson,” has agreed to fight “The Baddest Man on the Planet” and would even be pleased to do it for free.

“Of course. To box Mike Tyson, I would love that,” White affirmed. “ Why would I not do something like that.”

“Of course, I’ll do it for free,” the veteran actor added. “That’s my point man. It’s not about somebody else’s entertainment. That’s why I don’t post this stuff (sparring sessions) with Jon Jones or me and a lot of fighters. I don’t post that stuff. This is something that can happen next week.”
