ABC’s “A Million Little Things” is closing out its third season tonight with a big two-hour finale episode, but fans don’t have to fear that they won’t find out anything else about Eddie, Gary, Rome, Regina, Maggie, Katherine and the rest of the crew in the future, as the network has already renewed the primetime series for a fourth season.

ABC announced the news of the show’s renewal in May, as well as several other scripted series after the show saw enjoyed a solid 2.57 rating in adults 18-49 throughout the season, Deadline reported. The ratings came despite a shortened (and delayed) first half of the season due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, and a timeline that has the series an entire year behind as the cast deals with issues that were a big part of 2020, including the virus and social justice reform in the wake of George Floyd’s murder.

Due to COVID restrictions, the show also temporarily lost main cast member Delilah (Stephanie Szostak), who was unable to head to Vancouver for filming due to quarantine rules, leaving her character stranded in France all season. The series also saw a shift in programming, moving from Thursdays to Wednesdays midway through the season.

Though the series has been renewed it is unclear how the group’s intertwined stories will continue to play out, or when the series will return. Of course, much of what happens will likely hinge on what happens during the major finale episodes, which are titled “Justice: Part 1” and “Justice: Part 2.”

The show’s creator, DJ Nash, hinted on Twitter back in April that fans should be ready to expect another cliffhanger, similar to how Season 2 ended when Eddie (David Giuntoli) was hit by a car—a mystery that still has not been solved, though the character wound up in a wheelchair and relapsed with an addiction to painkillers—which has now cost him his marriage to Katherine (Grace Park).

Since teasing the cliffhanger, Nash has not revealed any other details regarding what will unfold, but a synopsis teases that all of the tension that has been felt in everyone’s lives could come to a major boiling point.

“Sophie (Lizzy Greene) seeks justice for her trauma, and Maggie (Allison Miller) forced Gary (James Roday Rodriguez) to take a hard look at himself and his relationships,” the synopsis reads. “Meanwhile, Eddie goes to extreme measures to fight for his family, and Rome (Romany Malco) and Regina (Christina Moses) make big changes for their future.”

In addition, the synopsis reveals a large number of guest stars returning for the final episodes. They include Paul Rodriguez (Javier), Terry Chen (Alan), Andrew Leeds (Peter), Adam Swain (Tyrell), Kari Matchett (Georgia Gregory) and Michael Weston (Christopher Gregory).

The “A Million Little Things” Season 3 Finale airs Wednesday at 9 p.m. EDT on ABC.
