A Florida woman and her daughter who went missing last week were found in Nebraska on Wednesday, July 29, after the mother died from "medical episode."

On Wednesday, the mother-daughter duo, Angela Jolley and Alexis Jolley stopped either at a gas station or a restaurant. Angela went inside to use the restroom. When she did not return, Alexis went in and found her having the medical episode. The 19-year-old immediately called 911. The woman was rushed to a hospital in Omaha where she died. The details on the "medical episode" were not released.

Meanwhile, Alexis spoke to a family member following her mother’s death and informed that she was safe. The family members in turn informed the St. Pete Police.

"We will no longer be looking into this case. There is nothing criminally involved that either of these women has done. We spoke to Alexis this morning and they both, at their own free will, decided to go on a trip out west. And that’s where they were headed when this tragedy occurred," Haemmelmann said, NBC-affiliated television station WFLA reported.

Speaking about Alexis’ death, her sister, Desiree Cook, told WFLA, "As a family, we are deeply saddened by the news of Angela’s passing. At the same time, we are relieved that Alexis is safe. We’d like to thank everyone for their search efforts and support of our family. All we ask for now is prayers as we navigate through this."

On July 23, Angela and Alexis were reported missing after the former didn’t turn up for work. Preliminary investigation revealed that neither the 46-year-old mom nor her 19-year-old daughter had told anyone that they had plans to leave St. Petersburg. Police searched their home and found their phones.

Police said in a press conference on July 28 that they had proof that the mother-daughter duo was not kidnapped or attacked. Police said a CCTV video from July 23 morning, showed them loading their pet dogs into their vehicle. Another surveillance video showed Angela entering an ATM. A few hours later, the vehicle was seen in Georgia. The same evening, the vehicle was seen entering Mississippi. The following morning, the vehicle was seen driving south of Memphis, Tennessee. The family’s two dogs were found safe.

"We are not looking to bring you back, we are not looking to tell anybody where you are. What I need you to do if you are out there is to call me and tell me you are okay so we can stop searching," Detective Kevin Haemmelmann said in the press conference, CBS-affiliated television station WREG reported.
