Middle East-based BRAVE Combat Federation is set to close a wonderful year of fights by having Rolando Dy face hometown bet Slobodan Maksimovic in the main event of the promotion's maiden venture on Serbian soil.

BRAVE CF 56 will be the promotion’s first-ever live event in the country's capital of Belgrade, and the outfit could not have put together a more interesting fight.

The heavy-handed Filipino striker has been a mixed martial artist since 2011 and is the son of local boxing legend and former WBC super featherweight champion Rolando Navarrete.

Taking up after his father, “The Incredible” takes some of his father’s stellar boxing and combining it with his ever-reliable footwork to keep his opponents guessing on the feet while preventing takedowns.

His last fight against Abdisalam Kubanychbek did not go his way as he was forced into a TKO loss after his corner called a stop to the fight prior to the start of the third round at BRAVE CF 47: Asian Domination this past March.

Dy was forced into a terrible situation after Kubanychbek used all of his might to get the Pinoy down on the ground and rain shots on him for the better part of two rounds, highlighted by a suplex at the end of Round One.

As for Maksimovic, he will be making his promotional debut at BRAVE CF 56 and has been fighting in the cage for the better part of a decade.

Maksimovic also possesses a respectable striking game and solid grappling game that he has used repeatedly in the past to batter his opponents en route to an impressive record of 17 wins, six losses and one draw.

The 32-year-old Serbian is also ranked as the No. 5 lightweight in the Balkan Peninsula and is currently riding a two-fight winning streak while winning seven out of his last eight fights.

Maksimovic may lack the power to finish his opponents, but he enjoys wearing out his opponents on the canvas.

Dy has a tall task ahead of him when he faces Maksimovic, but getting the win will put him back right on track for a potential shot at the title in the future.

BRAVE CF 56 will be happening at the state-of-the-art Belexpocentar in Belgrade, Serbia on December 18.
