  • The Nap Mode feature could arrive soon
  • The Nap Mode feature could allow passengers or drivers to sleep with the vehicle's climate control in an optimal setting and with an integrated alarm clock

Tesla vehicle owners may soon enjoy a new feature called nap Mode. The upcoming feature would allow them to sleep inside the car with the climate control turned on, and an alarm clock to wake them up. Tesla CEO Elon Musk seemingly confirmed this information in a recent response to a Tesla enthusiast.

The confirmation of the upcoming feature took place on the social networking site Twitter. A user named GutGutM3 asked about the feature, and the Tesla CEO responded with the user’s tweet with “OK.” If ever the mode arrives, it would provide convenience for passengers who want to sleep in the middle of a long drive.

It is also handy for drivers who would like to rest their eyes and recharge in the middle of the day. If the Tesla Nap Mode comes with the climate control set to optimal cabin temperature, passengers, and even drivers could get the most comfortable condition for their naps. Also, the integrated alarm clock would be very useful in preventing the driver or passengers from oversleeping.

Nap Mode could be the cousin of another feature released just recently, the Camp Mode, says Teslarati. It was launched in the Tesla update version 2019.40.50. In this particular mode, instead of renting a motel or hotel room, the Tesla owner can stay inside the vehicle. With the massive batteries of the vehicle, interior lighting, airflow, temperature control, and even powering devices is not a problem.

And, considering the size of Tesla batteries, the Camp Mode would not probably drain the vehicle’s battery that much. Aside from the Tesla Nap Mode, Musk also confirmed that Disney’s video streaming service Disney+ will soon arrive on Tesla Theater. At present, Tesla vehicle owners have YouTube, Netflix, and Hulu on the Tesla Theater.

The arrival of Disney+ also opens the possibility of the inclusion of other video streaming services in Tesla Theater. It could soon feature HBO Now, Crunchyroll, and HBOGo, to name a few. Tesla would like to provide its users with the kind of experience that they would never avail of on traditional vehicles, and it seems that the American electric vehicle maker is right on track.
