  • He was able to bounce back thanks to the medical staff of the league
  • He calls on everyone to support those in the medical field during the fight against COVID-19

The New York Knicks are known to be one of the biggest franchises in the NBA. Although they’ve struggled in the past couple of years in the win-loss standings, the Knicks have remained to be one of the more popular teams in the league. Their starter in the forward position Julius Randle used this platform to share an important message to everyone.

During this rapidly evolving time, the Knicks starter called people to support those working in the front lines. The NBA posted the words Randle had during this global pandemic.

“Throughout my life, I’ve always had doctors and nurses and those in the medical profession there for me,” he said. This is applicable to Randle as his resurgence in the league has a lot to do with the medical staff. He went down in his rookie year with the LA Lakers with a freak accident. He was a lottery pick for the Purple and Gold and was expected to blossom immediately for the squad.

This was unfortunately halted when he suffered a broken tibia in his NBA debut. Although this served as a setback in his rookie season, he was able to bounce back thanks to the doctors who helped in his recovery. This support was able to propel him in the succeeding years. He was traded to the New Orleans Pelicans where he put up big numbers for the team. He eventually moved to the Knicks where he serves as the team’s starting forward.

“I would like to make sure we recognize all that they’re doing during this challenging time,” he added. Those working at the front line have been doing their best to combat the effects of the coronavirus.

He shares that there are various ways for everyone to make a difference. He encourages people to check the schools, the relief funds drive, and any call for volunteers during this time.

“We are at our best when we are looking out for each other,” he shared as he encourages those interested to help to log in to nbatogether.com for more ways to help.
