It’s been a while since CBS TV series “NCIS” aired an episode. TV’s most watched drama last aired an episode on Tuesday, Nov. 1. Owing to the World Series and the 2016 Presidential Election, the long-running procedural is currently on a two-week hiatus. The show returns on Tuesday, Nov. 15 with a case that has a political spin.

Season 14, episode 8 of “NCIS” will show Director Vance (Rocky Carroll) oversee the temporary protection detail of Congresswoman Jenna Flemming (Mary Stuart Masterson). According to the synopsis (via SpoilerTV) of the episode, titled “Pay To Play,” the Congresswoman has received a series of escalating threats. Her life is in danger and this prompts Vance to enlist Gibbs’ (Mark Harmon) team to protect her.

CBS has yet to release an official promo of the upcoming episode. However, given the current political climate of the country, an episode involving a Congresswoman promises to be a juicy one. Hopefully, the wait will be worth it.

In other news, “NCIS” has tapped executive producers George Schenck and Frank Cardea as the new showrunners of series, according to Deadline. They will replace Gary Glasberg who suddenly passed away more than a month ago at the age of 50.

Schenck and Cardea has both been with the CBS show since Season 1. They have written more than 50 episodes of “NCIS” till date. In a joint statement, the new showrunners said “The ‘NCIS’ family suffered a tragic loss with the sudden passing of our showrunner, Gary Glasberg. It’s with heavy hearts that we assume his duties. We are fortunate to be surrounded by an incredibly talented and dedicated cast and crew, which will make the transition that much easier. Thank you to the ‘NCIS’ fans for the outpouring of love we have all received.”

“NCIS” Season 14 returns next week on Nov. 15 at 8 p.m. EDT on CBS.
