KEY POINTS

  • Ubisoft may have revealed the release window of the next "Assassin's Creed" game
  • The next "Assassin's Creed" game might release on PS5 and Xbox Series X
  • Ubisoft also confirmed the other AAA games arriving this year

The next "Assassin's Creed" title is one of the most awaited releases from Ubisoft. Last year, the gaming studio announced that it would delay the release of some of its titles to optimize them for the next generation gaming consoles-- PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. However, during the company's earnings call, Ubisoft announced that it would release five AAA titles between now and Apr. 2021.

Possible Release Window

Several details about the next "Assassin's Creed" game have already been revealed. Aside from those, we also have a plethora of leaks and rumors associated with the upcoming series iteration. But, the company's statement at its recent earning call may have given away the release window of the next "Assassin's Creed" game.

Ubisoft confirmed three AAA titles, namely "Watch Dogs Legion," "Gods & Monsters," and "Rainbow Six Quarantine." Three of five AAA games would arrive in the third quarter of its next financial year, which falls between Oct. and Dec. 2020, Ubisoft said. The remaining two titles would launch in the fourth quarter of the company's fiscal year, which falls between Jan. and Mar. 2021.

While the gaming studio did not reveal the names of the other two AAA games, Kotaku's Jason Schreier shared that these are the next "Assassin's Creed" and "Far Cry" titles. Based on Schreier's tweet, we could say that the upcoming "Assassin's Creed" would launch between Jan. and Mar. 2021. Also, considering that PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X are coming in the holiday of 2020 and based on previous Ubisoft's statement, the next "Assassin's Creed" game could likely launch on next-generation gaming consoles.

New "Assassin's Creed" Details

So far, the next "Assassin's Creed" title has no official title yet, although fans have been calling it "AD: Ragnarok" for some time now. Earlier rumors claimed that the game would have a Vikings theme. It might be set in some Nordic or Scandinavian countries like Norway, Denmark, Finland, Sweden, or Iceland.

Moreover, the next "Assassin's Creed" game would reportedly feature a massive map as leaked on 4Chan. Sadly, these leaks are not official and, at this point, are mere speculations.
