With the top free agents off the board, the biggest story in the NFL offseason is the future of the remaining available quarterbacks. Jameis Winston and Cam Newton are free to sign with any team, and Andy Dalton could join them if he isn’t traded.

Winston was first with 5,109 yards and second with 33 touchdowns last season. Newton won the MVP award four years ago. Dalton made the playoffs each year from 2011-2015.

Here are predictions regarding where each quarterback will land for the 2020 NFL season.

Jameis Winston: Pittsburgh Steelers

Winston might have to accept that he won’t be a starter in 2020. His best option might be to sign with a team that could give him a chance to start in 2021. Ben Roethlisberger could be headed toward the end of his career, coming off elbow surgery and entering his 17th season. Winston led the league in passing yards and interceptions in 2019. Roethlisberger was first in both categories in 2018. Mason Rudolph and Devlin Hodges proved to be inadequate backups for Pittsburgh last season.

Cam Newton: Los Angeles Chargers

Despite reports that head coach Anthony Lynn is ready for Tyrod Taylor to be the team’s starting quarterback next season, the team needs to add another signal caller. Fifth-round pick Easton Stick is the only other quarterback on the roster. Taylor makes few mistakes, but he played poorly enough two years ago to be replaced as the Cleveland Browns’ starter after three games. The Chargers can compete for a playoff spot with quality quarterback play. Newton had a 94.2 passer rating with 242.5 passing yards per game in his last full season.

Andy Dalton: New England Patriots

It’s been speculated for weeks that Dalton would be an ideal fit for Bill Belichick and the Patriots if Tom Brady were to head elsewhere. New England hasn’t been willing to trade a draft pick for Dalton, but it seems like only a matter of time before the veteran is cut and available in free agency. Are we sure Belichick is prepared to leave his offense in the hands of Jarrett Stidham and Brian Hoyer when the Patriots have the No.1 ranked defense and can still compete in the AFC East?
