Nicki Minaj stepped up to show her public support for Britney Spears by calling out the latter's ex-husband Kevin Federline for the way he treated the "Toxic" singer.

Minaj, 39, defended Spears, 40, amid the latter's feud with Federline, 44. Over a week after Federline spoke about the pop star's relationship with their two sons — Sean Preston, 16, and Jayden James, 15 — in an interview, Minaj reacted by slamming the professional dancer on her "Queen Radio" show for his remarks.

"Do understand what kind of a clown you have to be, to be a whole grown f--king man, and as soon as you see somebody happy and getting married and moving on and being free and feeling good in their own skin," the "Bang Bang" hitmaker said as quoted by E! News. "To do the very thing that you know is going to attempt to break them down."

She added, "Only cowards use the media against a famous person who they once loved."

Minaj accused Spears' ex of capitalizing on the "Baby One More Time" artist's popularity as a "constant 'gotcha' moment." She also questioned Federline if he thought the strategy was okay and if people would feel sorry for him.

Minaj praised Spears for being a good mother who "loves her kids more than life itself." The "Super Freaky Girl" singer also criticized Federline for allegedly using their kids against their mom.

"How dare you encourage this woman's children to be a part of your nonsense?" Minaj asked. "They're kids—they don't know how detrimental this is, but you know. Leave her the f--k alone."

Minaj collaborated with Spears for the 2011 remix of "Till the World Ends." Ke$ha, the song's writer, joined them to create a harder-hitting hip-hop version of the upbeat dance track.

Minaj was not the only celebrity who showed public support for Spears amid the latter's feud with Federline. Over the weekend, Jennifer Lopez shared a post from Spears quoting her on her Instagram Stories. Ben Affleck's wife added a short message for the "Lucky" singer on her post by writing, "Stay [strong]," in the caption.

Spears' model-actor husband Sam Asghari was also quick to defend her from Federline after the latter claimed their sons chose to distance themselves from their mom due to her scandalous posts on social media.

"My wife has never posted a nude selfie except of her butt [which] is quite modest these days," the 28-year-old Iranian-American model wrote on his Instagram Story. "All other posts were implied nudity [which] can be seen in any ad for lotion or soap."
