Ahead of the much-awaited Nintendo Direct E3 2021, several leaks surfaced online, hinting at surprises the Japanese gaming giant has reportedly prepared for "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2," "Super Smash Bros. Ultimate" and even Nintendo Switch Pro fans.

The latest information about "The Legend Of Zelda: Breath of The Wild 2" came from Twitter user Spawn Wave. According to them, they have received "a bunch of messages about some sort of Gamestop event next week." They speculated that the information "sounds like it could be Zelda related." GamesBeat reporter Jeff Grubb also relayed that he has heard similar claims.

On Twitter, Grubb quote-tweeted Spawn Wave and added "GameStops are expecting to get more next-gen console supplies in after E3 and that's part of it, but they're also expecting a rush on June 15, the day of the Nintendo presser."

These claims suggest several possibilities, one of them being, a new "The Legend of Zelda" themed Nintendo Switch is on the way. The other possibility is Nintendo finally revealing "The Legend Of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2" running on its heavily rumored Switch Pro.

Aside from this claim, Twitter user IntroSpecktive shared, "Not only will we be getting a BotW 2 trailer, but immediately after we will get a BotW character in Smash." They said that while retweeting Nintendo's E3 2021 Direct showcase announcement.

Following Nintendo's E3 announcement, industry insider and Kantan Games analyst Dr. Serkan Toto speculated that "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of The Wild 2" might have a 2022 release date. Unfortunately, everything about "Breath of the Wild 2" online is speculations and rumors. But, as "The Legend of Zelda" celebrates its 35th anniversary this year, it is not a major leap to assume that it would be a core part of this year's Nintendo E3 Direct showcase on June 15.

Hopefully, this would include an announcement or trailer of "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2." Nintendo announced the "Breath of the Wild" sequel in June 2019. At the time of publishing, the Japanese gaming giant has not yet revealed the release date of the much-awaited sequel.
