KEY POINTS

  • Potential games for Nintendo Switch in 2021 may include "Metroid," "Splatoon" and "Fire Emblem," a leaker suggests
  • "Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2" could be the perfect release for the 35th anniversary of the game
  • "Pokemon Diamond and Pearl" was also among the games said to be coming to Nintendo Switch

Updates on the potential new games for Nintendo Switch remain scarce, but a Nintendo leaker may have given a preview of what lies ahead.

PH Brazil has been known to leak news related to Nintendo, and the leaker's recent tweets appear to reveal what big game titles could be coming out in 2021. Earlier this week, the leaker tweeted images of four Nintendo franchises but did not state anything in the caption except “Feliz 2021.” He followed this up with another tweet that appeared to suggest that three games for the Nintendo Switch could be coming in 2021.

One of the photos was of “Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2.” Considering it will be celebrating its 35th anniversary this year, a new major title release tied to the famed video game would make sense.

However, there are other potential Nintendo Switch game titles to dig into. There were hints of “Splatoon,” “Metroid” and “Fire Emblem” possibly coming out, although there are questions tied to them.

In the case of “Splatoon 3,” it may be too early to see it coming out. However, it is possible that an expansion for “Splatoon 2” may be released instead. Unfortunately, a twist here is that Nintendo’s support for it may come to an end.

As for another “Metroid” game, the leaker was likely referring to “Metroid Prime 4.” The only problem with that is that the next installment is believed to be years away from being released. The tweet could be referring to a rumored “2D Metroid” game, although it needs further information.

Another “Fire Emblem” installment could be great but is likely a long shot. Considering “Fire Emblem: Three Houses” launched in 2019, seeing a new one coming out for the Switch would be a bit surprising. But then again, most know that “Fire Emblem” games come out every two to three years so it could make sense.

Lastly, there is also the “Pokemon Diamond and Pearl” reference that shows an image of Dialga. The leaked images could be a sign of things to come for Nintendo Switch users. But without the right explanation and reference, it would be best to take all these with a grain of salt for now.
